Mackenzie Foy
Name: Maria Ward
Age: 102
Gender: Female
Species: Vampire
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Occupation: none (looks to be a child)
Orientation: Straight
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: Maria follows her own whims. Life seems endless and for someone in her position it very well could be. So what is the point if she doesn't try to find things to entertain her, ways to enjoy herself? She is an individualist first and last. She values her own freedom which is quite sad given that it's impossible for someone in her position to be independent. She looks to be a small child so she will always need someone to care for her at least for appearance's sake. She can't hold a job and has no way of sustaining herself outside killing. This makes her very bitter. She's over a century old and is still treated as nothing more than a little girl. She has desires and deep thoughts but few can cut through the surface and see the person within.
She avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges tradition. Anarchy is not the goal. For that to be the goal she would have to be motivated by either good or evil which she is not. She might care to protect people she's fond of but this devotion does not apply to all people equally. She can be unpredictable, giving into whatever tickles her fancy at the moment. That being said, her behavior isn't completely random. There are things she likes and things she hates. Understand her workings well enough and you can hazard a guess as to what she'd do. However, she gets bored and during such times she can be quite unpredictable. Despite her age and the wisdom that accompanies it she can act rather childish because she is always dependent on someone and as people believe her to be a child childishness is expected of her.
Likes: pretty dresses, exploring, running at full speed
Dislikes: being treated like a child, forever being dependent on others, the difficulty of death
Character Strength: can easily manipulate people into doing this for her/protecting her given her little girl charm, has picked up a great deal of healing techniques from her mother figure, can easily get blood since mother runs a food bank
Character Weakness: reckless, prone to both depression and fits of rage (often called temper tantrum since she looks like a child), doesn't care about killing when she drinks
Hobbies: reading, sewing, running, climbing, painting
Family: Her sire and mother figure, Lyra Ward
History: Maria doesn't remember much of anything about her time as a human. She was just a small girl when she was turned. Her parents loved her dearly but she got sick, terribly sick and no one could save her. Her mother knew one of the nurses that tended to Maria was a vampire. She begged and pleaded the woman to turn her little girl so that she wouldn't have to die. The woman, Lyra, did as her mother bid. But as the mother did not know how to care for a vampire or truly help her, she entrusted her daughter in Lyra's care. And so Maria's life with Lyra began.
Maria loved Lyra dearly. She looked after her like a mother, teaching her how to feed and how to master her vampire powers. When she was young life was filled with joy and so much excitement. They traveled everywhere. They couldn't stay put for too long or people would begin to wonder why the little girl did not age. Originally Maria loved the traveling. But she came to hate leaving everywhere. She'd grow fond of a place, attached but she could never set down roots because people would come to understand what she was and that would be a problem.
As Maria grew older as much as she loved Lyra she loathed the fact that she was dependent on her for survival. Maria knew so much more than anyone guessed. She had the mind of an adult trapped in a child's body. No one would take her seriously, look at her as anything more than a little girl if a clever one. She became bitter and resentful and started lashing out at everyone at seemingly random moments including Lyra. She still hasn't come to terms with her adult mind in her child body but she can at least pretend to bury her temper now. In many ways she wonders if death wouldn't be more merciful. She doubts she'll ever find someone to love her looking the way she does. And she's upset that she was never given a real choice of what would become of her. No one asked what she wanted. She was just turned. She strives to find little bits of pleasure day by day, another reason to keep going. If she sits back and contemplates the centuries left to her, it would crush her and she might take to ending her life herself.
