The mystic gardens were supposed to be relaxing! Or the beauty was supposed to move you or something! But Maria for one was not impressed. She supposed it looked nice enough. But nice enough wouldn't cut it! She was...She was strutting the line between enraged and depressed. Still...after all these years...after a century of life she was viewed as nothing more than a small girl. Today...Maria had found someone. He was handsome and sweet and smart but there was no point in striking up a conversation. He'd never be interested in her that way. He'd only ever see her as a small child. She knew how this worked. Even when people understood she was a vampire she was rarely perceived as someone of her years. Little Maria she was always called. It wasn't fair! It wasn't fair! She kicked a stone with such force it damaged a tree.
Why?! Why was she cursed with this tiny body?! Never to grow, never to age, forever trapped as a child. She hadn't chosen this life! It was stolen from her! Maybe...Maybe it would have been better if she'd just died as a human. She found a place to sit down and buried her face in her hands weeping. She just wanted to look like an adult for once to be able to get a job and take care of herself. She wanted to talk to people and have them actually consider her opinions as a learned woman. She wanted to hold someone and kiss and...She had desires that would never be fulfilled as long as she lived. Not like this. She'd always be dependent on others. And she'd never be loved.
